🥵🥵🥵Hot Weather Information🥵🥵🥵
As everyone is already aware, our part of Kent is under a severe hot weather warning for Monday and Tuesday. If you wish to cancel or alter any appointments prior to the practice opening at 8.30am on Monday, please email vets@elandsvet.co.uk at any time.
Although our Dunton Green practice has 🌬air conditioning❄️ we would strongly recommend our clients consider the following points:
🛑Is your journey to the practice going to be safe for your pet?🛑
We would absolutely caution against anyone walking to the practice over the next few days, both for the sake of your pet and your own health.
Car journeys should be made with air conditioning running, and it is advised to 'pre-cool' your car by running the aircon for 5-10 minutes before attempting to put your pet in the car. If possible, provide water/drinking facilities for your pet.
Check traffic before you travel - the hot weather may lead to accidents that increase journey time.
🕜Could your appointment be moved to a near future date?🕖
We will be open as normal, but we would urge our clients to consider rebooking any non-essential appointments - if you have any questions about timescales and leeways for things like booster vaccinations, routine medication/health checks and elective surgeries (neuterings and dental care especially) please contact us via phone and we can help you decide what's best for your pet.
🐶If you have an animal who is particularly at risk from heat-stress, we would STRONGLY recommend that you do not plan to visit us except for emergency or essential treatment🐶 This includes animals who are:
- brachycephalic (short-faced) such as pugs, bulldogs, persians and lop-ear rabbits
- those with heavy coats including long-hair cats & rabbits, and dogs such as shepherds, huskies and St. Bernards
- any animal with a known heart, respiratory or kidney disease
❤️🩹 We will be prioritising appointment slots for urgent and emergency cases - please be aware that this may mean, depending on emergencies, that our consultations will not be running exactly to time. If there are severe delays, we will endeavour to phone you in advance.
☀️☀️☀️Everyone please stay safe and cool!☀️☀️☀️
