    Rebecca Nye

    Clinical Director, Veterinary Surgeon

    BVSc, MRCVS

    I graduated from Bristol Vet School in 2014. I spent two and a half years in a busy small animal hospital in South East London, then moved into Kent to live in the countryside and started at Elands Veterinary Clinic. I have been at Elands for five and a half years now, becoming ‘senior veterinary surgeon’ before transitioning into the role of Clinical Director from May 2022. I pride myself in leading this fantastic team, who always go above and beyond to ensure we provide the best possible care for your pets. I have a keen interests in ultrasonography and surgery, whilst currently studying for a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Small Animal Medicine).

    I have a rescue cat called Bonnie and four chickens named Daphne, Ethel, Mavis and Flora.

  • Charlotte

    Charlotte Surridge

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Charlotte studied Veterinary Science at Sydney University in Australia, graduating with Honours in 2006. She spent 11 years in Sydney working as both as a Veterinarian and a Practice Manager, and undertook further study in clinical oncology (the diagnosis and treatment of cancers in animals). In 2017 she returned to the UK and worked in clinics in Surrey and Kent before joining the Elands team in 2021.

     

    Charlotte is kept busy outside of work by her three cats, six chickens, 8 stick insects and her ever growing menagerie of pets. She loves meeting all of our wonderful patients and their owners, and is renowned for being rather generous with the treat jar!

    Iona graduated from the Royal Veterinary College (London) in 2019 and spent time with us as student both before and during her degree.

    Since graduating she has worked in both farm and small animal practice however as a Sevenoaks local, she was delighted when the opportunity arose to return to Elands.

    She loves all aspects of being a vet and especially enjoys that no two days are the same!

    Outside of work she can usually be found baking or walking her dog, Bilbo.

    Emma Barty

    Nursing Team

    HND(VNS) RVN - Head Nurse

    Emma joined the practice in 2005 as a newly qualified veterinary nurse after finishing her higher diploma in veterinary nursing. She became Head Nurse in 2014 and her special interests include diagnostic imaging and giving love to our feline patients.

    Outside of work, Emma enjoys going to live music events, reading, and occasional forays into baking (much appreciated by her coworkers!)

    Emma currently has two cats – a tabby-tortie marshmallow named Tabitha who was part of a litter team nurse hand reared, and a 3-legged black & white boy named Noodle, who makes up for his lack of a leg with an extra dose of feisty attitude!

    Laura qualified 2014 from Hartpury College UWE in Bsc Hons Veterinary nursing science. She was born in Devon and moved to Kent 8 years ago when she started to work here at Elands. She has always been a dog lover and her family have had two Jack Russell Terriers, she will always have a soft spot for one of these!

    Laura enjoys spending her spare time horse riding. She has a keen interest in nutrition and she loves running the weight clinics here at Elands.

    Erica qualified in 2014 from Hartpury College UWE and has been part of the Elands family ever since. She can often be found organising the dispensary and is currently undertaking a Veterinary Pharmacy Manager course.

    She is a huge dog lover having grown up with them and is often visiting her parents to sneak in some cuddles with their two dogs.

    Outside of work her main passion is horse riding, spending a lot of her time off with her two horses. She also likes cooking (and eating!) and travelling.

    Natalie Smith

    Veterinary Care Assistant

    Natalie started at Elands in 2018, she has always lived in the Sevenoaks area. She loves all animals and loves looking after them. She has one  squeaky guinea pig called cracker who thinks he is a human being not a piggy.  Natalie often looks after her daughters dogs Otis who is a Patterdale terrier and Blue who is a husky cross Rottweiler. Both dogs are rescue dogs.  Out of work Natalie likes going to the gym listening to music and going to concerts. She also  loves cycling or walking round the countryside. Natalie is currently taking a Level 2 diploma for veterinary care assistants.

    Saija Smith

    Practice Manager

    Saija has extensive experience in management and she comes from luxury retail background. She joined Elands 2017.She has been a loyal Elands customer the past 14 years and currently has 2 cats and a tortoise. Originally from Finland she has been living in UK the past 23 years, 16 of those in Sevenoaks. She is married with 1 daughter. She has a real passion for animal welfare and in the past she has been volunteering with local animal charities. She enjoys meeting and getting to know our clients and their lovely pets.

    Saija is always happy to chat to our clients. Please do feel free to call or email her at any time, or, if you are visiting the clinic and want to catch up, just let the reception know and she will pop down if she can.

    Angela Golding

    Reception

    Angela has been working for Elands since March 2017. Before that she was working as a senior secretary for a property consultancy in London. Angela has previously volunteered for both Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and Dunrunnin, part of The Greyhound Trust.

    In her spare time, she enjoys country walks with her dog-owning friends and she is the proud owner of two Battersea rescue cats.

    Tina Bosworth

    Reception

    Tina has been part of the Elands Team since joining in 2020. Having spent Many years working in Recruitment, Tina had the opportunity to work more locally and having been a client with her Dog Dottie she became a valued member of the Elands Reception Team. Tina has a real passion for customer service and strives to provide the very best customer experience for both you and your pets. Tina’s energy keeps us all going even on the most difficult of days and she can often be heard singing a little tune, our favourite is the ‘Gravy Boat’ song that she made up to calm even the most nervous of animals, it really does seem to work! Tina lives locally with her family in Otford and their little Cockerpoo Dottie, when you meet her feel free to ask her for a rendition of the ‘Gravy Boat’ song, you may even be able to help with a 2nd verse!

    Amy Laws

    Reception

    A welcome addition to the team in October 2021 was Amy, She is a joy to have around, she is really focused on the animal journey and is a very welcoming face at the reception desk, greeting all the animals with a happy smiley face, putting them at ease as soon as they arrive. Amy gained a degree in Animal Behavioural Science and Welfare and her understanding and compassion for all animals is plain to see. In her spare time (not much of it) she juggles 3 children and various animals.  Her passion is Rabbits, having rescued a couple from here she now has four, which includes 2 giants, she also has 5 guinea pigs and 3 cats, she can never say no to an animal! Amy works part time with the reception team and we all value her ability to put a big smile on our faces on the days that she works.

    Andrea Fitzgerald

    Receptionist

    Andrea is another one of our loyal local clients, who after visiting the practice a lot over the years decided to join our team.

    She is very passionate about animals and has owned horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, chicken, fish, mice, guinea pigs and gerbils!

    After having spent so much time coming here with her furry friends she was practically already part of our team.

    As her kids are all grown up she now spends most of her days walking and training dogs.

    Andrea joined the practice in September 2023 and is enjoying getting to know all of our clients. She particularly loves having a cuddle with pets arriving at the clinic along with the inpatient's. 

    Outside of work you will find Andrea either walking her rescue Mini Schnauzer Figgy or snuggling up on the sofa with her two oriental cats Olive and Gretel.
