Laser Surgery

The diode laser is an ideal instrument for surgical ablation and resection of tissue. The laser can be used in contact and non-contact mode to provide a variation of tissue heating and cutting effects, as well as effective haemostasis. The laser is extremely precise and causes minimal post operative pain and swelling. Since the laser light is delivered via a thin flexible glass fibre - the laser is ideally suited to use through the instrument channel of both flexible and rigid endoscopes - greatly enhancing our surgical capabilities during endosurgery. Ablation or resection of tumours in the bladder nose and abdomen can now be accomplished endoscopically.

The diode laser can also be used during conventional surgery for removing skin tumours etc, and is especially useful for surgery of sensitive areas such as the soft palate, where post operative swelling may pose a risk.
