Physiotherapy |
Physiotherapy has long been a neglected aspect of veterinary treatment. It has long been the norm for humans to receive post operative physiotherapy or physiotherapy for sports injuries. Indeed we use physiotherapy for a wide variety of common ailments from bad backs to twisted knees. Why then do we neglect this aspect of treatment for our pets? If you have ever had a bad back yourself you will know that it is not just the underlying lesion such as a prolapsed disc, that caused the pain. Most of the discomfort is due to the associated muscle spasm. By relieving that muscle spasm, much of the pain is dissipated - more effectively than relying on medication, and with less side effects.
A wide range of cases may be treated by Friederike, including post operative treatment of orthopaedic cases, treatment of wounds and skin lesions for pain relief and more rapid healing, musculo-skeletal disorders such as arthritis or tendon injuries, and behavioural disorders that may be related to pain or discomfort. Ring us on 01732 452333 to book an appointment . |
