The best of treatment can be put at risk by poor aftercare. At Elands Veterinary Clinic we provide a range of kennels for all sizes of pet, including a heated vivarium for our more exotic patients.

Our hospital ward is centrally heated 24 hours a day. The kennels are of stainless steel for ease of sterilisation, and are all fully insulated. We use a washable synthetic sheepskin bedding which is dry, warm and comfortable, - and washable. We use only high quality pet foods but owners are free to provide special diets for their pets during their stay, if desired. An infrared heat lamp is also available for critically ill or hypothermic patients.

We have a large "walk-in" kennel for giant breeds, although we have had the odd sheep or goat (and once even a foal) resident for a day or two. This kennel is also useful for smaller patients who have to stay in for a few days. Where possible all patients are excercised twice daily in the garden.

Although we have automatic fluid infusion pumps to monitor intraveinous fluids in patients on drips - all such patients are monitored throughout the day and night by our duty nurse, and a veterinary surgeon is always on call should the need arise.

We are a Registered Veterinary Nurse Training Centre and employ qualified nurses, some of whom live on site, to provide care for your pet 24 hours a day.
