Continuing Professional Development. |
In a world of continuous change and advancement, Continuing Professional Development is essential if we are to maintain a modern and up to date approach to veterinary medicine and surgery, and provide the best possible service for our clients. But what is CPD? In real terms it means attending conferences, seminars and practical courses in new and latest techniques. Investing in new equipment as necessary and acquiring the necessary skills to take best advantage of it. CPD applies to all our members of staff, including receptionists and office staff, nurses and veterinary surgeons. |
|
Becs, our senior nurse, has completed a course in animal behaviour and has spent time in Indonesia working with rescued Orang Utans. Gemma, our student nurse, has just started her first year Anaimal Nursing Assistant course on day release. Philip, the practice principal, has attended the British Small animal Veterinary Association conference, and continues to study advanced endoscopic techniques. He has spent time with human surgeons studying techniques used in hospitals and applies the knowledge gained to his own patients. Philip also continues to lecture to other vets all around the UK, teaching both rigid and flexible endoscopy. Vanessa, one of our veterinary surgeons has recently completed her Certificate in General Practice - an advanced qualification in small animal medicine and surgery. Liva, our other veterinary surgeon has just completed her Certificate in Feline Medicine - an advanced qualification in the diagnosis and treatment of cats. We take our responsibilities seriously, and strive hard to continuously improve and update our services. To this end we actively encourage, and fund, CPD courses for all our staff. |
